Troubleshooting – FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

If you are experiencing trouble running Baron Wittard: Nemesis of Ragnarok, you can contact support.

If you have purchased a boxed copy or a download copy from gaming portals, then please contact Iceberg Interactive for assistance (www.iceberg-interactive.com). Before contacting support however, please consult the troubleshooting section below to see if the issues listed there can help you to resolve your problem.

Q. The game installer displays the error message (or similar):  “Cannot import dll IssProc.dll”
A. Please try restarting your computer and then running the installer again, ensuring that no other applications are running during the install.

Q. When starting the game, I see nothing but a blank screen and some errors messages, such as: “TypeError… is undefined”.
A. Please try re-installing the game, ensuring that the game installer is run in administrator mode.

Q. When running the game I am asked to install the DX Studio Player.
A. Baron Wittard requires the DX Studio Player (Version 3.2.77) to be installed on the system in order to run successfully.  This version of the player is provided with the installer. Please re-install the game in administrator mode. Or click here to download and install the player manually.

Q. The game stalls or performs poorly, particularly in some locations.
A. Please ensure that no other applications are running simultaneously with Baron Wittard, such as Internet Browsers and E-Mail applications. Please check the Minimum System Requirements from the official website to ensure your system meets these requirements.

Q. The game crashes to the desktop seemingly at random.
A. Please ensure that no auto-archiving, backup software or other file monitoring and file-access services are running while the game is being played. Please ensure the game executable has sufficient access to the game files in the data folder.

Q. The save and load game menus do not display text, and I cannot enter names for my saved games.
A. Please ensure the core sans-serif font Arial is installed on your computer.

This patch should fix the font issue. Additionally, for the save and load menus, keyboard short-cuts have also been added for saving and loading games. In the save menu, press F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, or F8 to save a game to a corresponding slot. In the load menu, press the function keys to load the corresponding game.

Q. Help! I received a boxed copy of Baron Wittard and do not know the serial number.
A. The serial number should be printed on the back cover of the instruction manual.

Q. I have lost the manual, or I bought a download version of the game and have no manual. I would like to see the manual.
A. A PDF version of the manual can be downloaded from here.

Q. I cannot download the patch. My browser blocks the file, or my security software shows an alert.
A. We recommend temporarily disabling internet security products while downloading and installing the patch.
